Located three and a half hours north of Las Vegas, Nevada in the town of Tonopah is a clown-themed motel that has been labeled one of America’s Scariest Motels. The Clown Motel is a roadside motel that is located next to the Old Tonopah Cemetery, which could explain the rumors that the hotel is haunted. Horror Freak News gets to the bottom of this with exclusive video from inside the infamous Clown Motel.
I first heard about the Clown Motel on Facebook when a meme came across my feed. The idea of a clown-themed motel haunted by ghosts seemed appealing to me. But was it true? After a few google searches; I learned that the Clown Motel had been the subject of a low budget horror movie. Not really a case for a verified haunting.
I also learned that the Clown Motel was the subject of an episode of Ghost Adventures. Zak Bagans ran out of the office of the Clown Motel when a hand moved on a haunted life-sized clown doll. It appeared that Zak and his crew had some proof that the motel is haunted, but I was still curious.
After a few more days of research, I decided that the only way to know for sure if the Clown Motel is haunted was to spend the night there myself. I flew out to Vegas, rented a car, and drove up to Tonopah to the Clown Motel.
Since I am not a paranormal investigator; I consulted with a few who tried to discourage me from going. They said it could be dangerous. I got some advice and decided to bring with me three reputable pieces of ghost hunting equipment.
The first piece of equipment was the SB Ghost Box, aka Spirit Box from Ghost Stop. The Spirit Box scans the FM and AM bands along with white noise. Spirits are supposed to be able to form words using the white noise.
The second piece of equipment is a MEL Meter. The MEL Meter is an EMF meter explicitly developed for professional ghost hunting. It is thought that paranormal spirits manipulate the electromagnetic field. When this paranormal activity occurs, the MEL Meter can show such disturbances.
The third piece of equipment is the Ovilus 5. Digital Dowsing makes the Ovilus 5. They explain, “The Ovilus 5 converts environmental readings into words. The Ovilus5 is the latest in our equipment line. Based on the original Ovilus and all preceding, the Ovilus V is an ITC device. The goal of the device is to facilitate communications. Just like doing EVP or ITC feedback, nothing is instant or guaranteed to produce results. Like all Ovilus and Talker devices, the device NEVER uses random generators.”
I have seen the Ovilus used on television shows like Ghost Adventures, but I didn’t know what to expect from the Clown Motel. I had tested out the Ovilus at my home, and it didn’t say anything. Would it say anything at the Clown Motel? The activity captured on video is shocking.
After gathering my new equipment and headed out to the Clown Motel, I booked a three-night stay at the motel. The motel used to be owned by Bob Perchetti, but he put the Clown Motel up for sale. Hame Anand is the new owner of the motel. He has repaired many of the rooms and is displaying more clown statues and pictures that people have sent to the motel.
Anand allowed Horror Freak News to film everywhere at the motel to include the motel lobby and the graveyard. We were allowed to use all the ghost hunting equipment however we liked to.
The video below includes Ovilus sessions in the Old Tonopah Cemetery, the motel lobby, and my room at the Clown Motel. I also conducted a dual Ovilus and spirit box session in my room. I was shocked at the messages I received.
You can be the judge for yourself. Check out this exclusive footage from my stay at the Clown Motel. Leave a comment and let us know what you heard on the video.
