Capsule Review: In Bob Trevino Likes It, a young woman forms a bond with a middle-aged dude over the Internet, but it’s not like that at all. An incredibly heartwarming and entertaining story about mutual friendship and support, the drama-comedy offers a refreshing mix of humor, serious moments, and a story about personal growth and confidence.
Written and directed by Tracie Laymon, Bob Trevino Likes It features a stellar performance by Barbie Ferreira. She’s perfectly cast for the role of Lily. John Leguizamo is also excellent as the title character. The two have great chemistry together.
It’s a real shame this one didn’t garner more attention during its release: Bob Trevino Likes It is a true crowdpleaser, a movie that tugs at your heartstrings without manipulating them. Recommended.
