Mac DeMarco Launches Web Series With Bizarre Trailer: Watch

Music

Mac DeMarco, Jerry Paper, and more appear in a bizarre new trailer for the launch of Eternal Family, an “artist-run membership experience and a place to try out new ideas.” Mac appears in front of a tape reel, his face seemingly smeared in vaseline for a segment titled “Advanced Studio Recording Techniques.” Watch the full trailer below.

Eternal Family’s full roster of classes and content can be found here. Mac DeMarco’s first tutorial is called “Building an Echo Chamber,” while “Jerry Paper Teaches” includes a tutorial on funk music. An Eternal Family subscription costs $5 per month, or $50 per year, and offers unlimited, ad-free access to content.

In a recent Instagram post, director and previous Mac DeMarco collaborator Cole Kush noted that “60% of the monthly [Eternal Family] revenue goes to our creators and the rest to operations & funds to create and license more interesting things.” He added: “The goal is to create stable income and a place to try out ideas that can be self-produced and perhaps hard to pitch. More monthly users = more funds to create more shows and add apps for mobile & TV.”
