Angel Olsen has shared a home recording of a new, 11-minute song called “Time Bandits.” Check it out below. Captioning the video on Instagram, she described writing the song just a few weeks ago (and made no reference to the Terry Gilliam film of the same name). “Against better judgement I’ve decided to put new songs up,” she wrote. “It’s a business but it’s my business.”
Since releasing Whole New Mess in August, Olsen has covered George Harrison’s “Beware of Darkness” and Bobby Vinton’s “Mr. Lonely,” the latter of which appears in Miranda July’s new film KAJILLIONAIRE. She recently performed for NPR’s “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” series from her porch. In September, Olsen featured on a 40-track compilation titled Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy, a compilation benefitting voter rights organization Fair Fight.
