When you think of shopping in NYC, you think of trekking through a crowd of tourists at Times Square, or living your best Breakfast At Tiffany reenactment life with a pit stop on Fifth Avenue. Nordstrom is on a mission to change that.
Earlier this week, Nordstrom opened its new 320,000 square-foot women’s flagship shop by Columbus Circle and Central Park just steps away from the Nordstrom’s Men flagship shop across the street, which launched last April, complete with seven floors where customers can shop a curated selection of their favorite brands such as Dries Van Noten, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Vince, Ted Baker London, Madewell, Reformation and Topshop. The towering retail space also offers three different shoe departments featuring styles from Gucci, Prada, Christian Louboutin, UGG, Steve Madden, and the retailer’s permanent in-house Nordstrom x Nike installation. Handbags, jewelry, restaurants and more are peppered throughout the seven-floor space.
If apparel and shoes don’t pique your interest, how about two floors of beauty? Nordstrom’s new space features 16 shops from popular beauty brands like YSL, MAC, Diptyque, Byredo and more. You can take a break from shopping and get your brows done at Anastasia Beverly Hills or get a sculpted face at FaceGym. To personalize each shopper’s experience, Nordstrom also developed digital experiences, like a Lipstick and Fragrance Finder.
To celebrate its new move, Nordstrom launched Perfect Pairs, an exclusive collaboration featuring 14 brands and collaborations with NYC-bred famous faces, including Steve Madden x Winnie Harlow, Cole Haan and Cleo Wade, Birkenstock with celebrity stylist Leslie Fremar, available now on nordstrom.com. Other personalities featured in the campaign include stylist Shiona Turini, tennis pro Maria Sharapova, Manrepeller’s Leandra Medine, and designers Mara Hoffman and Kim Shui, and influencer Alyssa Coscarelli.
