The Real Housewives of Potomac women are not happy with new cast addition Nneka Ihim in Season 8, which premieres Sunday, Nov. 5 on Bravo at 8 pm ET.
Fans who watched the trailer already know that franchise vet Wendy Osefo and Nneka will be entangled in a fiery feud after Nneka accuses Wendy’s mom of “submitting names to shrines.”
But the drama isn’t just fun reality TV fodder, Wendy told TVLine at BravoCon. She called Nneka’s accusations “disheartening” and “hurtful.”
“It’s sad that it’s coming from someone who is a fellow Nigerian — to use, what I call, xenophobic tropes that, as immigrants, we grew up with when we were younger,” Wendy said. “And it’s hurtful… I hope she got the attention she was craving.”
Meanwhile, fellow cast member Karen Huger shared her own Season 8 expectations, telling TVLine she would be an “open book” as always. But where does she stand with frenemies Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant?
According to Karen, “Gizelle is just messy as hell and she’s good TV. But Robyn, you know, not so good but we’ll work with her.”
