There is energy draining the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta by none other than Busta Rhymes, and the hype is all real. The legendary rapper announced in social media announcing his big-show gig and promising once in a lifetime event. The poster depicts a goofy and mad Busta whose towering presence runs from the background to perhaps the exploding gradient-highest-energy gig on the block along with the loud.

The caption in Busta’s post was a true reflection of the man—fires and all—full-on capitalization harnessing the excitement: “THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE WON’T EVER STOP!! WE OUT HERE IN CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA GETTING READY TO SHELL THIS BITCH DOWN AT THE CHARLESTON STERNWHEEL REGATTA!!! PULL UP!!!!”
Then came the so-called nasty comments. One comment was downright savage: “The worst live performance I’ve seen in my entire life.” It further went on to allege that Busta lied way too much on his DJ and that he fell short of the live energy that the name should have commanded. Ouch. Remarkably uncharacteristic for someone whose name mostly evokes an electrifying presence on stage, though not every wound can be healed with applause.”
The reverse also occurred. Raucous cheers had been heard: “the definition of being a great kind man and a man you don’t want to mess with,” pretty much sums up Busta. Other fans praised the photographer; some stood there reminiscing, while the rest were speculating about the upcoming event, seriously, even one’s got plans of wearing red to pay tribute to him. One hundred percent dedication, nothing less.
The event is a biggie in West Virginia with the ambiance of good music, boat racing, and positive vibes. Busta’s entry only adds to a long list of top talents that have graced the event, and judging by that post, he is not just there to show his face, but to take total control.
Make no mistake about it; whether you worship or detest him, Busta Rhymes is the talk of the town, and if history is any indicator, his concert at the Regatta will be nothing but unforgettable.
