Mrs. Maisel Actress Hit By Car


Hollywood is mourning a sudden loss. 

Actress Wenne Alton Davis—best known for playing roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Girls5eva and New Amsterdamdied after being hit by a car in New York City Dec. 8, police and her agent confirmed to The New York Times. She was 60. 

Police told the outlet Davis was hit by an S.U.V. that was traveling on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan and made a left turn on Broadway where the vehicle struck a pedestrian. Davis was transferred to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

E! News has reached out to authorities and a rep for Davis but hasn’t heard back.

Davis’ manager Jamie Harris told the NYT that the actress was originally born as Wendy Davis in North Carolina on Oct. 18, 1956, but chose to use the name Wenne Alton Davis for her acting roles. She moved to New York in her late 20s to work as a stand up comedian before she turned to acting. She also worked security at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
