Rachel Leviss is saying goodbye to her podcast, and her former co-star and best friend Scheana Shay has some thoughts about it!
Last Thursday, the 30-year-old reality star revealed she is ending her Rachel Goes Rogue podcast 10 months after the launch as she wants a “more balanced and healthier life” that has nothing to do with Vanderpump Rules anymore. She said in the final episode:
“I’ve made the decision to take both feet out of the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ universe and focus on myself, focus on my life, my healing. I have decided to walk away from continuing the podcast, because I would like to move on from having one foot in the door of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and one foot out.”

The news is not a surprise! It was only a matter of time, especially since the Bravo series has been on a hiatus for so long! What else was she going to talk about to keep listeners coming back each week if not her old castmates, their drama on VPR, or Scandoval?? The only thing shocking people is that she didn’t hang up her microphone months ago! Even Scheana commented on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea on Wednesday:
“I’m surprised it took this long.”
Damn! That said, even with their issues post-Scandoval, the Good As Gold singer acknowledged Rachel gave the podcast her best shot. However, she ultimately just never saw any “longevity” with it! Meow. She continued:
“Here’s the thing: I believe everyone should have a voice and be able to get their side of the story out and that was her way of doing it, so good for her. I did not see longevity in this podcast when it started, and I was actually surprised that it went on for 60-something episodes. So good for her for being able to do it for that long. It’s not easy. People think, ‘Oh, I’m gonna start a podcast,’ and it actually takes a lot of work.”
Scheana knows all too well how hard it is to run a podcast. She has hosted her own show, Scheananigans, for over six years now, and even to this day, she gets “nervous” about her job:
“And still, my heart races before every interview. I get nervous even [recording my solo episodes]. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m getting out of breath.’ It’s not easy. For anyone who thinks, ‘I’m just gonna start a podcast,’ there’s a lot of work that goes into it if you want to make it successful and actually pay the bills with it.”
So true!
Unfortunately, Rachel just couldn’t cut it in the podcast world long term. What are YOUR reactions to the podcast ending? Are you just as surprised as Scheana is that it lasted this long? Let us know in the comments!
