Elizabeth Olsen posed for a photo with a cosplayer dressed as Doctor Doom at C2E2. This comes amid growing rumors surrounding the Scarlet Witch actress’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, which she has not been officially confirmed to appear in. Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff was last seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In it, she went up against the titular hero while under the corruptive influence of the Darkhold.

Olsen interacted with two fans at C2E2, where she spoke at a panel dedicated to her. She posed for a photo with them, one of whom dressed up as Doctor Doom.
In the image, she stood in the middle holding the fan’s Doom mask while he and his sister, the latter of whom dressed in clothing themed after Scarlet Witch, struck her iconic spell-casting pose.
At the C2E2 panel, Olsen revealed she had no idea what was going on with Doomsday. She also expressed similar unfamiliarity with its follow-up, Secret Wars, even asking if it would be two movies.
Wanda Maximoff last appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, sacrificing herself to destroy the Darkhold after realizing its negative influence on her. In the process, she destroys Mount Wundagore, which she had earlier used to dreamwalk into the body of her Earth-838 self to find America Chavez — who had escaped there with Doctor Strange — and use the latter’s powers to enter a universe where she could be permanently with Tommy and Billy Maximoff.
During its destruction, Wundagore collapses on Wanda, seemingly killing her. Marvel later confirmed her death in the book, The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline.
Despite this, Olsen has expressed interest in returning as Scarlet Witch. Speaking to The Playlist, she expressed pride in getting to explore Wanda’s journey. While she couldn’t reveal if Wanda was turning up in Doomsday, she expressed interest in reprising the role. “I want to see [her] return in this role because I think what they’ve done with her is really great,” she stated. “And I love the journey she’s taken. I think it’s always a fun one to get to go back into, and I just have no idea how or when, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday premieres on December 18, 2026. Anthony and Joe Russo directed it. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely co-wrote the screenplay.
