The first installment of the Netflix anthology series Beef featured two people developing an intense, life-destroying feud. The second season, launching this April, will focus instead on two couples. In the new teaser trailer, it’s reveals that class will play a huge role in the new season of the dark comedy, as young country club employees Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton) get tangled up with their boss Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan).
According to the official release, “Through favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho).” Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, writer, and showrunner, with William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, and BM also joining the cast.
Beef Season 1, starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun, was an awards juggernaut for Netflix, winning nearly every TV award possible for its brutal look at human relationships, and Season 2 is poised to do the same. The series premieres April 16th on Netflix. Check out the new trailer below, and for more, revisit Yeun’s cover of Incubus’s “Drive” from the first season.
