Who will star in Dig?

Amy Poehler was the only cast member announced for Dig until December 2025, when Deadline revealed Hugh Laurie had been tapped to play the male lead opposite Poehler’s character. According to the outlet, Laurie will play a British professor named Neville, who has a passion for archaeology and works to uphold the traditions of the dying profession. Nevill supposedly sees himself as a mentor.

According to the series logline for Dig, the show follows four women working at an archaeological dig in Greece who are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes conspiracy. Poehler and Schur serve as co-writers on the pilot and will also write the series Dig alongside J.J. Philbin.
