Capsule Review: Parents might be afraid to venture into the world of the brightly colored Trolls, but this series may be the boldest, most batshit crazy mainstream franchise operating today. Stuffed with fun music, sugar-fused energy, and LSD-laced elements, Trolls Band Together is an absurd blast.
This isn’t the kind of movie that will receive rave reviews or award-worthy respect, because it cares little for deep themes or the emotional nuance of such contenders. But it’s funny, ridiculous, and just weird as hell. From horny creatures (hint: I’m not talking about their physical attributes) to nonsensical details that defy all reasoning, Trolls Band Together gives zero f**ks. And that’s a good thing.
Take your kids to go see this movie. You may end up liking it more than they do.
