Judas Priest Announce New Album Invincible Shield

Judas Priest surprised attendees at Indio, California’s Power Trip festival on Saturday night (October 7th) by announcing their new album at the beginning of their set. The legendary metal act’s long-awaited 19th studio LP, titled Invincible Shield, will be released on March 8th.

Invincible Shield will be Judas Priest’s first album in six years, following up 2018’s acclaimed Firepower. The first single from the new full-length effort will be “Panic Attack,” set for release on Friday (October 13th).

Judas Priest have been working on Invincible Shield on and off for the past few years. Back in the spring of this year, guitarist Richie Faulkner told Heavy Consequence, “We’ve been working on a record for quite a while now. That got halted a little bit because of the COVID lockdowns. We’ve been trying to get that finished.”

In the meantime, Priest celebrated the 50th anniversary of the band with an extensive tour and a massive box set.

No tracklist has been unveiled for Invincible Shield yet, but the striking cover artwork can be seen below, along with video of the onstage announcement and a gallery of our photos from Judas Priest’s set at Power Trip. Pre-order the album in various formats here.
