It was a very early warm Sunday morning when Sharon Lia’s latest single was born. The ice in her favorite drink had long since vanished, puddled around her glass, a poetic casualty of what would eventually become the first verse. Sunrise peaked right along with the melody for the chorus. By the time morning had fully set in, the piano was closed and the bones of her new single had taken on a definite shape.

Everything leading up to that moment in Sharon’s life played an integral part in that moment becoming a reality. Growing up in New Jersey, young Sharon spent her high school years playing piano in her school’s music room. All of it was done in private, until a music teacher taught her a lesson that stuck with Sharon ever since: a creation isn’t a creation until you share it with someone. That advice instantly translated into Sharon’s first live performance in a talent show, one that firmly established in her the realization of what she was meant to do.

Blossoming from there, she would spend the next years of her life learning the intricacies of her craft while attending college, acting, and modeling part-time. By the time 2013 rolled around, the time had come for Sharon to make her move. Quickly she formed her band around her and, in 2014, won her first “Breakout Artist” competition. From there the band started touring the mid-Atlantic, wowing crowds from NJ to New Orleans with Sharon’s powerhouse vocals and textured piano melodies. The next three years would also see Sharon founding her charitable foundation “Ladies Who Rock 4 A Cause”, a music-driven organization inspired by her own battle with cancer.

These days, Sharon’s on a path that may be perhaps the most eventful in her career. When she’s not at home with a homemade mojito, she’s recording new music with Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum engineer and producer David Ivory (Halestorm, Silvertide, The Roots). She was personally invited to perform at the White House. Recently, Sharon was named 2017 Pop/Contemporary Artist of the Year at the prestigious Josie Music Awards in Nashville, TN and had her new photos shot by legendary rock music photographer Mark Weiss.

Most notably, however, that new single of Sharon’s was given a name. Titled “Anomie”, the song was produced by Ivory and mastered by Ted Jensen in New York, NY. “Anomie” will be available worldwide on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018.

Behind the dramatic ebbs and flows of the music, “Anomie” is Sharon’s most raw song to date, an emotionally powerful combination of rock and roll edge and Sharon’s piano-driven melodies. Perhaps it’s a beautiful irony that while the word “anomie” itself represents a disconnection, the road that has led Sharon Lia to this point has been all about connection, both to her fans as well as to herself. It’s that kind of connection that allows for big things to happen, and it’s that connection Sharon hopes to share with as many people as she can.
