New Indie Music from Melbourne! by KiKi Skinner

If you are tired of the herding routine of the current establishment, what’s one way to wake them up and shake things up?  Smack em in the face with a righteous, hypnotic, song that is in your face, infectious, unapologetic, and smokin.  A track just released in Australia and in the UK from the Collegians’ camp does just that and it is entitled “Black Mass.”

Following the monster track “Vaccine,” “Black Mass” is an arena-worthy track that is not just one of your run-of-the-mill Techno cuts with overdubbed midi, synths, and effects, so don’t get it twisted; no, this new release is Synth-Pop done at its best and it touts blazing guitars, spanking hi-hats, heart whipping percussions, along with stimulating lyrics, hooks, and harmonies.

The track mutates and progresses to a level of musical strength that makes even the weakest link in the bunch become the strongest – from the flow of the lead’s adrenaline-like vocals on to the pulse-pulling modern instrumentation.  Peeps, get ready for a musical spinal tap.

Coming out of Melbourne is Collegians – 4 heart-throbs that are easily a New Wave blend of U2 meets the Pet Shop Boys mixed with sex appeal and attitude.  “Black Mass” is a musical wakeup call for the masses.  Check out these guys at www.collegiansmusic.com and follow them on Twitter @CollegiansMusic.  Also check out KiKi’s music blog to explore more Indie Music artists from around the globe at www.KlefNotes.com.
